Snow Walking: Christmas Wishes

Snow Walking

Snow walking
River tumbling
Half moon watching
Robin calling
Trees posing
Cheeks flushing
Eyes glinting
Smiles bursting
Laughter ringing
Feet slipping
Arms catching
Love dancing
Heart melting
Evening falling
Christmas nearing
Peace descending
Simply living
Snow walking

I wrote this poem last Christmas Eve.  I’d been walking in the snow with two people I love dearly.  The feeling was one of deep peacefulness, and I’m glad I wrote a poem about it.

Later that afternoon my mother slipped away, quietly, peacefully.

I’m glad I have the poem from that afternoon.

Wishing you all much love and peace this Christmas time x

I love this poem. It is so evocative of your wintry walk in such a concise way, every word adds something. I can almost hear and see you all.

    Happy Christmas Joanna.

Very evocative words and a beautiful tribute, even if it wasn’t meant to be at the time.

    Merry Christmas from Down Under,
Usually nice hot BBQ at the beach weather this time of year, but the rain continues to pour, mud is getting thicker, trees soggier, rivers lakes over flowing and even the ducks have had enough.

Thank you for all your inspiring posts, poems, articles & tips through the year. Wishing you and family all the best for the season.
    Steven :) )

@Debbie: thank you Debbie. It is very important to me to make every word count, I appreciate you finding it so

@Conor Ebbs: thanks Conor, it’s one thing I’m learning from writing a lot more… you have material that becomes more deeply significant later, even if you don’t know it at the time. Hope you had a great Christmas in your new home

.@Steven@Natural Organic Cosmetics: thanks v much for the good wishes Steven, do hope you’ve not been washed away since writing this!
