Just a little bit of blog housekeeping…
I’ve updated my feed so that you can now subscribe by e-mail. It’s a free service and it seems very easy to use - once you’ve put in your e-mail in the box like this one below you’ll get a message asking you to confirm a link. After that you get updates sent directly to your in-box. Oh and each e-mail has an unsubscribe button at the bottom which means it’s easy to stop the service if you change your mind later.
As time goes by I’m starting to understand more about the different ways that people choose to follow their favourite blogs. One that hadn’t occurred to me until Robyn McMaster pointed it out was via Technorati Favourites. If that’s how you like to read - here’s the button to press for ‘favouriting’ me!
I’ve also been experimenting with my own feedreader - I’ve been using GreatNews but am trying out Bloglines just now. I can’t find a way to track comments which I can on some (but not all) on GreatNews which is a disadvantage, but it allows me to clip posts very easily which I like, and to create a public blogroll. This seems more sensible than spending wasting time updating my blogroll here every month - because what I read does change quite a lot in response to new sites people point me towards, trying to follow what readers here are writing, and trying to keep it all within manageable limits. I’m constantly learning about the best way of managing all these things and the landscape does keep on changing - so if you’ve tips and suggestions on what works best for you - don’t feel shy about sharing!
